I try to capture and show my love for Sikhi and cars thru my blog. :)

My demerits are so many and numerous. I have sinned so many times, over and over again. O Lord, they cannot be counted.
You, Lord, are the Merciful Treasure of Virtue. When it pleases You, Lord, You forgive me.
I am a sinner, saved only by the Company of the Guru. He has bestowed the Teachings of the Lord’s Name, which saves me. ||2||

This is why Sikhs wear karpans (swords). We wear them to protect ourselves and others. A Singh was attacked buy a mob of Hindu extremists yesterday night in Punjab.
I don’t know what happened to the Singh after but I hope he’s okay.

SORAT’H, FIFTH MEHL: The Creator has brought utter peace to my home; the fever has left my family. The Perfect Guru has saved us. I sought the Sanctuary of the True Lord. || 1 || The Transcendent Lord Himself has become my Protector. Tranquility, intuitive peace and poise welled up in an instant, and my mind was comforted forever. || Pause || The Lord, Har, Har, gave me the medicine of His Name, which has cured all disease. He extended His Mercy to me, and resolved all these affairs. || 2 || God confirmed His loving nature; He did not take my merits or demerits into account. The Word of the Guru’s Shabad has become manifest, and through it, my honor was totally preserved. || 3 || I speak as You cause me to speak; O Lord and Master, You are the ocean of excellence. Nanak chants the Naam, the Name of the Lord, according to the Teachings of Truth. God preserves the honor of His slaves. || 4 || 6 || 56 ||

Akaali code of conduct – Bhai Daya Singh Ji Rehatnama

On the Vaisakhi day of 1699, at the holy city of Sri Anandpur Sahib, the 10th Guru, Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji made the call that would fulfill the creation of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

In front of the holy congregation, Guru Ji asked for the head of anyone who was willing to sacrifice their lives for the sake of righteousness, freedom of others, and one who was willing to die for their Guru.

The first holy soul to answer the call was Bhai Daya Ram of Lahore, followed by Bhai Dharam Das, Bhai Mohkam Chand, Bhai Himmat Rai, and Bhai Sahib Chand.

The Guru bestowed upon these 5 Sikhs, the title of Panj Piare- the 5 beloved. These 5 Sikhs became Singhs (lions) after receiving the baptism of the double-edged sword.

Later on at Anandpur Sahib, Piara Bhai Daya Singh Ji approached Sri Guru Ji and asked the Guru many questions relating to the code of conduct for a Sikh. The answers that the Guru spoke is now known as “Rehatnama Bhai Daya Singh Ji.”

A part of this rehatnama is the code of conduct for the warrior Singhs, the army of the Guru – The Akaali Nihangs.

Below is the code of conduct that was uttered from the holy mouth of True King, the Sache Patshah Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji.

Thus is the Akaali’s form, he wears blue clothes.

Contemplating the Gurbar Akaal, keeping of iron weapons.

He keeps all iron chakars (discs) and karads (daggers)

Do not pierce the ears or nose, this is the Satguru’s wish

Wearing 5 weapons on the body, keeping a sword in the gatra.

Placing the crown on the Panth’s head, is the Satguru’s charity.

He eats out of all iron dishes, wearing clothes of blue and yellow.

Equal to a million Ganges rivers, does he consider Amritsar (Amrit Sarovar, the pool of nector).

The Armies, Advisors, Courtiers should all be Khalsa, the religion will increase.

Without touching the dagger to his food he will not eat. Do not abandon the home.
